#NaturalHair Product Review: Kinky Curly Knot Today
I Love, Love, LOVE this product
Can I just say, WOW...
I don't know how or why it has taken me so long to try this product. The reviews have been on youtube and blogs for years. I considered ordering it online last year when I was still in the UK and decided not to due to my so-so experience with the Kinky Curly Custard. It's hard to find off-the-shelf in the UK, and the cost of delivery was also a little off-putting, and so, I forgot all about this unicorn tears magical elixir.
I'm actually not kidding people. It's the best product I think I've ever used. Doubles as a leave-in conditioner, styler and de-tangler, AND it's made almost completely from natural ingredients. What more could one ask for? (I guess it could be a little cheaper actually). Maybe after a few more days the novelty will wear off. For now, I'm loving this product!
The consistency of the actual product is similar to a gel but it's runnier. It smoothes onto the hair strands nicely and provides plenty of slip for combing, brushing or finger detangling.
I purchased my bottle from Jannys Hair and Beauty store in Dolphin Estate, Lagos Ikoyi for N4,800 (£17) which is more than I would normally spend on a product, but it was totally worth it.
PROS
- Works as a de-tangler
- Works as a leave in conditioner
- Defined my curls
- Stretched my curls
- No flaking
- Non-greasy
- Good moisturiser
- Reduced frizz
- Provided enough hold for chunky twists
- Light fragrance, not too over-powering
- Silicone-free (for the Curly Girls)
- Added shine to my hair
CONS
- It's pricey
- The bottle is small (8oz.)
- Not sure how well it works with other products as I've only used it alone
The size: at a measly 8 ounces, I think they could do with releasing a larger size bottle for those of us who don't have the time or money to be going back and forth buying a bottle every 2 weeks.
Thumbs up!
Short and sweet review. Hope you find it helpful!
Ciao for now
